Award-winning musical? We’ve got it. The Beatles and Sinatra? We’ve got ‘em. Something for the kids? We’ve got that too!

When I was growing up, I had a strong passion for the performing arts. I remember having to grab a small cushion at the entrance of the Drama Center and rushing to the front to get a good view of the local play or musical I was about to watch. The Drama Center was located in a small, old building, with simple sets and costumes.

As the arts and culture scene started to pick up in Singapore, the theater-going culture too became much more sophisticated. Theaters could seat hundreds of patrons and there was a noticeable increase in international performances coming to Singapore.

The Marina Bay Sands Theaters have not only provided another venue for world-class performances in Singapore, but they have enhanced the vibrancy of theater-going. The Theaters have seen award-winning musicals such as The Lion King, Wicked and Annie since they’ve opened in 2010 and the line-up of performances continues to grow!

From October 2012 onward, visitors can look forward to a range of shows, from the award-winning musical Jersey Boys to the acrobatic The Nutcracker on Ice. There really is something for everyone!
