On 5 May, exhibition Hall F at the Sands Expo and Convention Center of Marina Bay Sands was transformed into a spectacular sports arena for the Dragon Fire Championship Boxing Event. With all 4,000 tickets sold, the event delivered a spectacular night filled with anticipation and excitement complete with pyrotechnics, music and lights to immerse fans in the buzzing boxing atmosphere.
Boxing enthusiasts were treated to world class action as boxers slugged it out for the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Vacant World Featherweight title and fights in other categories. With the strong show of support and as reported in Today Online, Singapore has the right mix of ingredients to be the next global hub for professional boxing. Walking away with the WBA Super World Featherweight title for the 16th time was Chris John from Indonesia who beat Shoji Kimura (Japan). Daud Yordan from Indonesia took home the IBO Vacant World Featherweight title and the Super Bantamweight title was taken out by Wang Xin Hua (China). Yao Yi Ma from Taiwan won the Junior Middleweight title and Rex Tso (Hong Kong) took out the Super Flyweight title. Qiu Xiao-Jun from China was the winner of the Swing Fight #1 Bantamweight.
