The Philadelphia Inquirer:

“Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pa., opened its 300-room hotel over Memorial Day weekend to strong demand, achieving more than 80 percent occupancy.”

Today is a great day for us. The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem opened the much-awaited Sands Hotel, and set a new standard in luxury and style for guests in Pennsylvania. I’m heading out there in a couple weeks to blog about the new hotel, and I’ll have more photos and info in the next few days, but I just wanted to give a warm shout out to our peeps in Bethlehem on a job well done.

Kevin Chandler, director of public affairs for the Armed Forces Foundation:

Our guests [staying at the Palazzo] are men and women from different backgrounds from all parts of the country. Many were injured by improvised explosive devices overseas. Some suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, but all have put themselves directly in harm’s way in service to our nation.
